RANDELL, CHARLES Bide Arm
Passed away on May 23, 2005 at White Bay Health Centre in Roddickton, Charles Randell of
Bide Arm in his 97th year. He leaves to mourn sons Woodley (Jane) of Bide Arm and Winston
(Winnie) of Roddickton; daughters Audrey Pollard of Stephenville, Betty Randell of Bide Arm
and Adella (Rene) Cassell of Roddickton; brother Daniel of Bide Arm; sisters Ettie Hempshall of
Sheffield, England, Charfield Randell and Lucy Filler, both of Englee, and Nellie Humby of
Roddickton; 32 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, as well
as a circle of other family and friends. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in
Bide Arm from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 with Pastor Chris
Hewlett officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Flowers were graciously
accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, Roddickton, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.
PENNEY, GORDON GEORGE Port Hope Simpson
Passed peacefully away at his home on Friday, April 22, 2005, Gordon George Penney of Port
Hope Simpson, age 75 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Shirley;
sons Guy (the late Mary), Dale (Sherry), Glen (Sharon) and Gordie (Beverley); daughters Lillian
(the late Ambrose), Judy (Edgar), Beverly (Gary), Ruth (Brian), Vida (Tony) and Loretta (Todd);
sister Marjorie; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, as well as a large number of other
relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Alex and parents Thomas and Mary
Penney. Visitation took place at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Port Hope Simpson from
where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25. Interment followed in the
Pentecostal Cemetery.
WAY, EARL WILLIAM Oct. 20, 1926 - May 21, 2005
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Earl William Way announces his passing on
Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 78 years. He
leaves to mourn with loving memories his wife Mary Ellen; daughter Leona Coombs (Clifford);
son Hank; granddaughter Medina Coombs (Toma); brother John (Louisa); sisters Winnie Parrott
(Kenneth), Rachel Priests and Jane Hanah; brother-in-law Harold Mugford; sister-in-law Naomi
Mitchelmore (Curtis), Marina Applin (Albert) and Dulcie Way, as well as a large circle of other
relatives and friends. He was predeceased by moth Keziah, father Benjamin Elijah, brother
Llewellyn and nephew Harrison. Visitation took place at St. Marks Church in Savage Cove on
Saturday and Sunday form where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 23 with
Rev. Steven Maki officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Savage Cove. As
expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to Fillatres Funeral Home, Port au Choix/ Bear Cove.
GENGE, ALMA April 24, 1928 - May 23, 2005
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alma Genge announces her passing on Monday,
May 23, 2005 in the presence of her family at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age
of 77 years. She leaves to mourn sons Lyman and Terry (Sylvia); daughters Donna (Said), Nena
(Kie) and Margaret (Matthew); son-in-law Chesley; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren,
as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband
Jerry,daughter Virginia, grandson Donovan, mother Alfreda and father Israel. Visitation took
place at St. Matthews Anglican Church in Anchor Point on Tuesday and Wednesday from where the
funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 with Rev. Steven Maki officiating.
Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Anchor Point. As expressions of sympathy,
flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatres Funeral
Home, Port au Choix/ Bear Cove.
CAINES, CASANDRA CASSIE (NEE KEOUGH) Portland Creek
April 30, 1915 - May 20, 2005
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Casandra Cassie Caines (nee Keough)
announces her passing at Bonne Bay Health Centre on Friday, May 20, 2005 at Norris Point in
her 90th year. She leaves to mourn her loving family - her children Mike (Shirley), David
(Lillian) and Aster (Ada) of Portland Creek, Alma (Harvey), Parsons and Hilda (Victor) Goosney
of Parsons Pond and Edith Caines of Hawkes Bay; sister Bride Thornhill of St. Pauls and
brother Clayton Keough of Parsons Pond; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-
great-grandchild, as well as a circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her
husband Emmanuel Caines, sisters Mae Wentzell, Lucy Payne and Rita Caines. The family
received friends on Saturday and Sunday at St. Josephs Anglican Church in Portland Creek from
where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. in Monday, May 23 with Rev. James Pratt
officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Portland Creek. Funeral arrangements
were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, Forever in our
Hearts. A friend indeed in your time of need.
