I am looking for:
Lorenz Saunders
born about 1840, place unknown, assume Sandy Cove, Digby County, NS
married Nov.26, 1860, Catherine Gidney
died 1880 +/- 1 year, age 39, while living at Sandy Cove or while at sea

Allice Saunders (dau of Lorenzo and Catherine) Note: "ALLICE" is not
misspelled.
born 1861, Sandy Cove
died 1875, age 14, Sandy Cove

Neither Lorenzo nor Allice was found in the updated cemeteries listings for
the Digby Neck area shown in the Digby County GenWeb Project site. All
cemetery lists were searched. Web site= <A HREF="http">

The family was Baptist and in 1884, Catherine (Kate) (Gidney) Saunders. Wife
of Lorenzo, migrated to Laconia, NH with some or all of the 5/6 remaining
children from the marriage. In 1884, the children's ages ranged from 5-20
years.

Now some questions:
Does anyone know the customs of the times as to burial sites? If Lorenzo died
at sea, where would his death be published and otherwise recorded? Did people
of the times have a burial site on their real property? If they did, were they
regulated/protected by law? Since cause of death is not known, death must have
been by accident, disease or act of god such as lightning. Were there any
death-causing diseases in Sandy Cove during the time periods of death, i.e.
around 1875 and 1880? Where can Allice's death record be found?
