A friend of mine has reached a dead end on one of his ancestors. If anyone can help on this one, he would be real happy.
GOODWIN, Philip C., b abt 1814, NH. m Mary Newell, b 1818, d 1909. He left NH for the Gold Rush country and never returned home. This last info was written on the back of a photograph. I have no idea if the family ever heard from him or not. The 1850 census had him living with his family in Concord, Merrimack, NH. He was 37 and his wife, Mary, 32.
Also looking for info on one of Philip's sons:
GOODWIN, John Franklin, b 1844, Pittsfield, Belknap, NH, d Apr 1934, Northwood, Strafford, NH. Lived in Concord, NH, then was in Northwood, Strafford, NH for 80 years. He was in the 1st NH Heavy Artillery in the Civil War. Listed as Frank in the 1850 census and age given as 5.
Other children of Philip Goodwin and Mary Newell, per 1850 census:
Mary - 7
Charles - 4
Album/Alburn (sp?) - 1
I hope someone will recognize these names.
Joan in NH
