I received an email from Bill Tescheck of Hampton's Lane Memorial Library
Memorial which pointed out that the Elizabeth DALTON I wondered about is
reported to have married a John BARTLETT after she and her parents and siblings
had removed to Deerfield, NH. This report is found at p. 330 #8 of Parsons'
"History of Rye, N.H., 1623-1903". So, if you were inclined to try to help me,
you can scratch off her name change possibility as very improbable.

The origin of Charlotte DALTON (1791-1867), my gg grandmother, is a mystery. I
have found no record of any DALTON by the name of Charlotte, other than in the
1811 marriagerecord mentioned in the notes for Simon in The Marston Genealogy
and in North Hampton's Vital Records. Jones, William Haslet, "Vital Statistics
of North Hampton, N.H., 1742-1942," pgs. 160 and 200. An Elizabeth DALTON, dau.
of Michael and Molly [PALMER] DALTON, was born in No. Hampton in June 1791
[Jones at p. 14]. Could this be her prior to a name change?
