Christine, and List :

Interesting, your comments on ROBERT COLDAIR - after some prodding, and
(my) presentation of evidence that ROBERT CALDER was in New Hampshire, both
before and after 1790 -
The New Hampshire Society of Genealogists has ACCEPTED
ROBERT COLDAIR as being ROBERT CALDER , and his family data will be
published in their upcoming " Heads-of-Households "
from the 1790 census.

In retrospect, I suppose that if your Scottish brogue is broad enough, and
the educationally challenged enumerator is using phonetic spelling,
CALL-DER becomes COAL-DER and then phonetically COLD AIR.

In two places on the OLD UNITED EMPIRE LOYALIST LISTS
in Canada there is a reference to JOHN COLDAIR and a WILLIAM COLDAIR - in
both instances, the spelling shows a
(later) correction to CALDER.

The census info jives with what I know of Robert Calder (#1)
, at that time. I had been looking for him in Brookfield, but his
probate of 1793 puts him in Middleton.

Where/how does one tie into the 1800 census, up here north of the border in
the land of the sixty-five cent dollar ???? Or does one have to seek out a
volunteer researcher ????

Thanks for the help.
