Subject: Most Wanted - Parents of Peter Gubtil

My most wanted people are the parents of Peter Gubtil, born November 3,
1779 supposedly in Berwick, York, Maine. He married Elizabeth "Betsey"
Call December 31, 1807 in Dresden, Lincoln, Maine, and they were among
the early settlers of Hermon, Penobscot, Maine, although the marriage
record says he was of Hampden, Penobscot, Maine. He married second,
Abigail Courtney after July 1828 probably in Hermon, Maine. Peter
Gubtil died February 18, 1858 and is buried in Hermon. I have a letter
from Peter's daughter, Hepsibeth in which she lists the family and
claims Peter's parents were Moses Gubtail and Sarah Pray of Berwick,
York, Maine. My problem is that I cannot find a record of Peter's
birth, baptism, or any other record, in Berwick, and when I make a
family group of Peter's siblings in Hepzibeth's letter and the children
of Moses and Sarah that were baptized in Berwick, there are too many
children for the period of their marriage - 1778 until Moses' death in
1792. I will really appreciate any clue or any suggestion of where to
search.
