I know this has nothing to do with the DAR, but there are some "nuggets"
here. Notice the mention of genealogy being the #1 hobby in the U.S. and the
upbeat word "Jamboree". There's a feeling of excitement that comes across
that we need to emulate in our PR efforts.

Can we move away from the average person's perception of the DAR and bring
in the idea of revealing the unknown history of one's family or something
else EXCITING ???

With 50 million Americans having ties to Cumberland Gap, Tn and Genealogy
being the number one hobby in the world, this was the venue for this free
to the public event.
We hope that everyone enjoyed the Genealogy Jamboree 2011 destination
Cumberland Gap, Tn. We had 3100 + genealogist from 39 states and 2 countries,
that had fun and enjoyed the speakers, vendors, exhibitors. We enjoyed it
so much that we set the Date June 7-9, 2012 in Cumberland Gap, Tn the
Gateway to the West. We hope that you can make this event next year.
Again we are asking for one that did not send in pedigree charts we are
asking that you do, the 700 that we received was a big hit. If anyone would
like to set up a family surname tent, or a Historical/Genealogical Author
to set up a tent, Society or Traditional trade person contact us. We have a

facebook.com/genealogyjamboree. This event was free to the public this year and it will be
next year. 3 counties, 3 states 1 event do not miss out on this event.
