Hi Dorothy & all -

Thanks so much to everyone who has answered my request of help. This is
what I've found out so far from my own phone calls & from a helpful reply
from Wayne McElreavy:

The Claremont Department of Public Works keeps records of the LOT OWNER -
not who's buried in the plot - for all the cemeteries in town. Their
address is 8 Grandview Street. Hours M-F 7-3:30. Phone (603) 542-7020.

The Claremont Historical Society is open only on Sunday afternoons.
According to Wayne, the town clerk usually sends people doing geneanolgical
research to the library to see Colin Sanborn, who is also pres. of the
historical society. The library has an excellent room for genealogy,
including an index to the town records vital records from 1887-1946.

I'll post more when I get back.

Wooddell (mine mostly spelled it with two 'd's) is also one of the main
names I am searching for in Claremont. Mine came there from Washington
county, New York in about 1860. So I'd be interested in your Elizabeth
Woodell & her parents, if you know who they were, to help me sort out the
various families - it looks like there are at least two different batches
of Woodells in town, who are as far as I can tell unrelated.
