Hi. I need some advice. My g-g-grandparents were Peter Lavelle Murphy and
Mary Donnelly. I am told that they were from Cullyhanna or Markethill. He
was born March 1829. She was born in 1831. They were married in 1853 and
supposedly came to Philadelphia shortly thereafter. My G-grandfather was
born in Philadelphia in 1861. Their children were John J., Margaret,
Daniel, Peter Francis, James Michael, George Thomas, Mary and Elizabeth
Catherine. I don't know anything about Peter or Mary's parents. I don't
know what ship they went to the U.S. in. I believe that they were Catholic.
Does anyone know of this family or have any advice on where I should start
looking. I haven't done any research in Ireland yet.
