Looking for any information on Colonel Henry Harpur GREER in Northern Ireland.
He was a first cousin of my Grandmother, Margaret Jane FRANCIS, daughter of Thomas FRANCIS, born Trandragee , who married Ann Jane GREER & settled in Ballynewrey, Porterdown, County Armagh.

Colonel GREER served in the Crimean War, but later was a Colonel & Colonel Luietenant commanding the 68th Land Infrantry Field Force during the New Zealand Maori Land Wars,in 1864.
Would like to know who his parents were and have been told that the GREER family can be traced back to Scotland and are connected to Rob Roy MacGREGOR. (So my Grandmother used to tell us). Any information would be appreciated.
