The honeysuckle and magnolias aroma make it good to be in Carolina in the
morning.
With so many of our family planning trips to Scotland and Ireland this
year , maybe some of the mysteries can be solved.
1. Who lives at Collieston in Dunscore today and did the MacDougalls
live there before the Mccalls in 1300's. What does the castle or house look like
today?
2. Did Rosies family live at Drumlanrig. Many of her family have
Douglas middle names and family tradition has marriage between Black Douglases and
Mccalls.
3. Who owns Sanquhar Castle after the Marquis of Bute died? What did it
look like when the Douglases lived there. McCalls have there address as
Sanquhar Castle in 1500's. Servants or guests?
4. What does Carnshalloch, outside Dumfries look like today. On ancient
maps it looks like the farm at Auchentaggart ? Are ther any paintings of the
Tower Castle at Guffolkland in Kirkconnell?
5. What does town of Kenmore look like today . Angus says it is three
miles south of Inveraray. Are there any record of Sir John Mccall,POW James
MaKall, or Francis Mccall there?
6. Where did Edgar McCall, Earl of Richelin live . Some have said
this was the Girvan area in 1124. Note the number of Mccalls with Kennedy middle
names?
7. Did Sir John McCall have a castle in Belfast area in 1550?
8 The list of Saints has a Mccall on Isle of Man in 400's. There are
a lot of Mccalls that came from there to the colonies. A photo of a statue of
Saint Mccall would be wild.
9. At the recent Loch Norman Games ,one clan had an ancient map of
Ireand. McCalls were found only in Galway on this map. Some legends have Mccalls
there as early as 2500 BC?
10. Today many of our McCalls are living in Armagh. Oswald McCall has
sent several e-mails. Drop by and visit a spell? Don't forget Angus in
Edinburgh, William in Glasgow, Peter in Lockerbie, John In Dumfries , Robert in
Sanquhar or John Kennedy Hardy McCall in Kent. Hopefully all will be at the
Derbhfine later this year.
