Hi Eileen,
Thank you for responding so quickly. The information you have provided will at least give me a starting place. James has been my brick wall for a long time.
I have already searched some of the records in Lee, MA. It's very interesting that your family lived next door to Isabelle. Yes, she was a widow in the 1870 census, James having died earlier that year. I have found the grave of his first wife, Sarah, but not his. I've also found the grave of my great great grandmother, Isabelle.
The Susan in the 1870 census was my great grandmother. If I can do any research for you in Lee, please let me know. I'm very familiar with Lee, as my father was born and raised there and I have found the town clerk to be very helpful. I will be going back to Lee sometime. Probably not until spring, as my husband doesn't like to "go north" in the late fall or winter.
I scanned the list quickly, but I did notice a Mary Crawford listed. James listed his parents names as James and Mary Jane Crawford. And of course, you had noticed that one of the sons was Andrew, one was George and one was John. Given the naming patterns of the time, this may be a clue.

.......original message........
Judy, no listing for a James Crawford in Griffiths in Armagh. I did find
Crawfords in Armagh and have listed them below. Fortunately, the place isn't
exactly teeming with them, so it may make the task a bit easier.
Interestingly, there are Crawfords in the same village (Derrylee) in
Tartaraghan Parish and also nearby in the Parish of Drumcree from whence my
Wilsons and Weatherheads hailed. Also, two branches of the Weatherhead
family settled in Lee, Massachusetts as well in the 1850s, so there may be a
connection there, and may be the first place you should look.
In the 1870 census, is Isobel Crawford a widow? I find one in Lee with
children named Edward, John, George, Susan, Jennie, Andrew and Thomas,
living next door to my Weatherheads (Catherine, a widow, along with
children, Thomas, Robert and Richard). Perhaps there is a closer link that
you might think??
