My g.g.grandfather, John McGlinchey, died in the Old Poorhouse Residencies, Coatbridge on 14th March 1906. He was born somewhere in Ireland but unfortunately I haven't been able to ascertain exactly where, as yet. He was born circa 1830 and his parents were William McGlinchey and Ann Toner. He married Mary Ann Docherty in 1858 in Dalbeth Cottage, Lanarkshire and their children were born in Baillieston. One of their daughters, Margaret McGlinchey, married John McCready who was born in Old Monkland. During their married life they lived in Coatbridge and Margaret died there in 1942. I hope this information might be useful and I hope that in return you may be able to help me discover where in Ireland my McGlinchey ancestors came from before settling in Lanarkshire.
