Thank you for all your assistance with the Wilsons. Sorry I haven't
responded sooner. I have been trying to use the internet to find more about
William. I have found him in the 1881 and I think also in the 1901 census.
They are in Belleville, Hastings West, Ontario in 1881:
Name Marital Status Gender Ethnic Origin
Age Birthplace Occupation Religion
William Wilson M Male Irish 58
Ireland Farmer C. Presbyterian
Jane Wilson M Female Irish 47
Ireland C. Presbyterian
John Wilson Male
Irish 20 Ontario Clerk C.
Presbyterian
William Wilson Male Irish
18 Ontario C.
Presbyterian
Annie Wilson Female Irish
19 Ontario C.
Presbyterian
George Wilson Male Irish
14 Ontario C.
Presbyterian
Minnie Wilson Female Irish
10 Ontario C.
Presbyterian
James Wilson Male
Irish 8 Ontario C.
Presbyterian
William and Jane also had a large family.
Source Information:
Census Place : Belleville, Hastings West, Ontario
NA Film Number: C-13238
Family History Library Film: 1375874
District : 121
Subdistrict : C
Division : 7
Page Number: 13
Household Number: 65
Since the 1891 census isn't available online, I looked at the 1901
census. The only William and Jane I could find with somewhat the correct
age were living in Manitoba. They were living in the MacDonald District in
the town of Portage la Prairie. William was the age of 83 and Jane was 64.
They had a son William age of 32. However, in the census they said that
they came to Canada in 1865. After thinking it over, I came to the
conclusion that they weren't the correct William and Jane. Should my next
move, see if I can find either of them in the 1891 census of possibly
Hastings County?
I want to thank you for all your help. I have gotten closer to finding
where Daniel came from in the last month than in the last five years.
Tom
