One of the weaknesses of "Ireland" is the urge to make as many dollars as possible on a request for information.

When in CO Mayo we asked for information on a Michael Higgins after paying approximately 35 pds, received a letter indicating that yes, they had him back in the 19th C, but if we wished any more information that it would cost another 150 pds. Being newly married I shot the wad and we received more information on my wife's family. Took a trip to Ireland and found the same information on gravestones as well as relatives. 185 pds would have been very nice to apply to our return trip two years later.
