i am trying to trace my grandfather and relatives.
Peter Callahan or Callan DOB 02/04/1919 in Co Armagh.

we think he was the youngest of 6 and his mother died when he was a baby,
we think he was born into a workhouse in Armagh

he left Northern Ireland in 1933 aged 14years and ripped his parents names off his birth cert and added letters to make O'Callaghan.
he never went back to ireland ever!!
i really think ther were reasons as to why he left at that age, he went on to have a troubled life and died at 62.
that was when his ripped birth cert was found, which has since been lost.

any help...any relatives that this story sounds familiar too? there could be a whole family still in Armagh that i belong to.
