Looking for the townland or parish of the parents of Arthur KERR (CARR/KARR)
who married Elizabeth (Marie Louise) DUSSAULT at St. Francois du Lac, Quebec,
in October 1823. The marriage record stated he was the son of David KERR and
Sara DOVELIN (DEVELIN/DEVLIN) of Co. Derry, Ireland. Arthur's sister,
Margaret KERR, married at the same location in Quebec in 1827. They were
Protestants, possibly Baptists, since Arthur KERR, Jr. married in the
Freewill Baptist Church in Melbourne, Quebec, in 1854. Arthur Sr.'s middle
name was abbreviated in the marriage record as Jos. or Jas. (Joseph or
James). Arthur KERR, Jr. named his son James William George KERR
(CARR/KARR). The witnesses to Arthur KERR's marriage in 1823 were Richard
and William MEAHER (MAHER). Any suggestions as to where in Co. Derry people
with the surnames KERR, DEVLIN, and MEAHER may have resided close together
between 1770-1820?
