Hello Brian,
I checked the 1831 surname index and couldn't find a John Stinson. There
were about six mentions of the Stenson surname, but once again no John. The
surviving remains of the 1831 census covers most of County Derry only and
also the information contained is very sparse.
The only person named is the head of the household and then it gives
numbers of males and females and religion of the occupants. No ages or
occupations are given.
