Hello listers

Thanks for the many responses about Glendermott parishes, incl. Church of
England, and 1st and second Presbyterian. I believe I am beginning to get
the picture! On the http://www.
presbyterianireland.org/congregations/glendermott.html site I learnt that
the Church at Church Road, Altnagelvin, Londonderry (presumably 1st Presbyt)
has had parishioners sinve 1654. But why can't these Church web-sites
mention when their surviving records date from and where they can be
accessed? I tried the Proni site and found its Presb Records section is
down, the word "using" coming up. One lister did mention that the
Glendermot records were not "of her time period." I wonder if she knows
when the surviving records start ? I will now email the Minister K.
Patterson and make my suggestion about his web-site.

To add to the Gilfillan story, one of my ancestral Archibalds of Eglinton
married into the Gilfillan family. She was Mary, sister of my gt gt
grandfather David A. She was born at Eglinton about 1815 and married Alex
Gilfilland of Killylane. They had a son William James G. born 9 Dec 1838,
baptised at Faughanvale Presbyt. Church on 16 Dec 1838. ( details from
Parish register at Proni). If anyone has further information about those
particular Gilfillans I would be very interested.

It is any Archibalds of Eglinton that I am trying to trace on Glendermott
records since Faughanvale records only start in 1819.
