Hello:

I am researching my grandfather's family from Tamlacht Finlagen. My
grandfather Alexander Forsythe was born 1886. He immigrated to the US in
1907. His Ellis Island records state he was 21 and 5' 7" tall with brown
hair, unmarried, a clerk by profession, could read and write, was
Irish/British, birth Derry, and headed to Massachusetts to live with a friend.

We think his mother's name was Bridget Cassidy. Alexander also had a brother
who immigrated to Canada, year and place unknown. We do not know his
brother's name or whether there were other brothers and sisters.

I remember when I was in high school, in the 50s, I had a pen pal with the
last name of Kelly. We wrote back and forth for a few years. I think my
father's cousin sent us the name, so there were relatives still living there
in the 50s and 60s.

Hoping someone might remember or know of a family Forsythe from that area.
