G'day,
On my grandmothers marriage certificate, her Fathers occupation is given as soldier, this was 1918.
I know it was during WW1 but I would think he would be too old to be an active soldier, he would be in in his mid forties at least.
Were there any regiments stationed around Limavady, Londonderry, or would he be listed as soldier if he was a member of any other sort of organistation? Were there any barracks in the city or the county where army personnel and/or their families may have resided?
