For Harry & Shirley Stevenson
I did a search at Ancestry.com in the Ireland Parish and Probate Records database and found the following family in Co. Antrim. They might not be your direct relatives, but they might be related in some way. Antrim was the only county that returned a Clark family.

Clifton Street Burying Ground, Belfast
O.S. Antrim 61. Grid Ref. 335752
Sacred to the memory of Thomas Clark who died on 05 Jan 1840 aged 49 years. Also Mary his wife who died on 01 Jun 1852 aged 52 years. Also Margaret Joyce Clark their eldest daughter who died on 24 Feb 1883 aged 59 years. Also their youngest son Thomas Clark, Brigade Surgeon A.M.D., formerly of 69th Regt, died 23 Dec 1891 aged 59 years. "He shall raise us up, and we shall live in his sight".

The Knights of Columbus organization was founded here in USA, in Connecticut, in 1882. The attached link describes how it sprung from troubles suffered in US by Irish immigrants http://religiousmovements.lib.virginia.edu/nrms/Knights.html

Family lore is that my ancestor was involved in a quite serious altercation between the Orangemen and the Knights of Columbus and shortly thereafter left Ireland as a stowaway on a ship bound for America. On arriving in N Y he worked to save for passage of his wife, their children and spouses. Have been unable to locate Passenger Lists or find dates of arrival for either he or his family. Have him located here and in N Ireland and have considerable data but would like to find documentation of this altercation. Any advice greatly appreciated.

They came to the U.S. in 1822 from County Londonderry with at least two other family members, one may have been named Sam. The Irwins were Orangemen. The Irwins settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
