While searching the LDS microfilm # 909975, Soldiers Documents, 88th
Regiment, 1808-1830, I came across the following entry. He's not part of my
Stuart clan, but maybe someone on the list will know of him.

Private John Stewart, from Co Derry, Maharon (? hard to read) near town of
Derry, carpenter, discharged 3 Aug 1816, age 49, 5'*", brown hair, grey eyes,
fresh complexion.
