Hi Rachel
Thanks for your advise. I'm in the United States and this is the first time
I've tried to research outside of the country. I found some letters my
grandfather and his cousin wrote back in the 30's and 60's and was really
hoping someone in their family was on-line.

It issn't clear from your messge what steps you have already taken but your
dates are within Civil Registration so if you haven't already done so, you
should think about getting marriage and birth certificates. This will give
you some more clues as to location and you can work back from there through
church records,
You can order certificates on line - not cheap- from
www.groni.gov.uk
(They were paricularly good when I ordered one where I knew approx dates and
were able to give a sibling as well)
Of course if you live near Belfast you can book to go and use their
conputerised database which makes the finding process much faster than of
old.
You might want to look at
www.groirelamd.ie
where you can get copies of the entry more cheaply but will need exact
references.
If you are near a Family History centre, they also have or should be able to
get filmed records of Irish Civil registration.
This site has a useful explanation of the registration process and dates.

Don't overlook the broad resources available from RootsWeb, WorldGenWeb
or Ancestry. If you don't know where to look, this is the place to ask!
