Hi,

I'm trying to find out more information about Pady McCUE (possibly also known as Patrick McCUE or McHUGH), who is listed on the 1851 census for East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, Scotland. The census says that he was 34 years old (so b. c. 1818) & that he was from Derry, Ireland. He is listed as living with 12-year old Patrick McCUE (so b. c. 1839). Does anyone recognize them?

There are other McCUE/McHUGH's listed in Lanarkshire, Scotland as follows, who may also be related:-

1851 census Avondale, Lanarkshire
- James McCue, aged 25 (so b. c. 1826), born in Ireland & married to Rose aged 22 (so b. c. 1829). They lived with the DUFFEY family of Ireland.

1861 census Avondale, Lanarkshire
- Hugh McCue, aged 29, (so b. c. 1832), born in Ireland; married to Ellen GRADY, aged 27 (so b. c. 1834), born in Ireland
[suggests that they emigrated between 1851, as not on that census & 1856, date of their wedding]

1861 census for East Kilbride, Lanarkshire
- Mike McCUE, aged 21 (so b. c. 1840), Ireland
- Patrick McCUE, aged 30 (so b. c. 1831), Ireland
- Mary McCUE, aged 46 (so b.c . 1815), Ireland
- Biddy McCUE, aged 18 (so. b. c. 1843), Ireland
- James McCUE, aged 12 (so b. c. 1849) Ireland
[suggests that the family emigrated between 1851 & 1861, as they were not on the 1851 census]

Anyone recognize these families?
