In my own search for online 1740 Protestant Householders Index, prompted by
this email thread, I came across something I found for the first time:

This is an index to gravestones/monumental inscriptions. If you find one
that you want, you can order a "gravestone inscription certificate." Derry
seems to be covered quite well and I found many listings for my rather
uncommon surname (JUDGE).

Unfortunately, it is a bit pricey - ?20 for one inscription; ?15 each for
two or more.

I could have sworn that the 1740 was on Ancestry.com but I am not finding
it, so I must be mistaken. They do have several other Irish listings.

Here are a few suggestions for how to get the 1740... it only lists names,
so I hope if you go to the trouble, you won't be disappointed. My
ancestors'
names were so common, I couldn't tell which one was mine!
