I have traced my grandfather Hugh O'Hagan to his birth in Maghera in 1881 and
his wife Elizabeth Brennan to her birth in nearby Macknagh in 1878. Hugh's
father was James and his grandfather was also Hugh (married to Mary McKenna in
1859) and Elizabeth's parents were Frank Brennan and Margaret Heaney (her place
of residence at time of marriage is listed as Moneysharvin). The Brennans and
their 14 children lived on a farm in Upperlands adjacent to the Clark linen
factory.
Any additional information on these family connections would be welcome and
appreciated.

Patrick,
My husbands grandmother was sister to your Elizabeth! I did know that our Annie's parents were Francis and Margaret Brennan ( I did not know Margaret's maiden name til your post!)and that they lived on a farm in Upperlands ( or is it Upperland?) Russ' Mom said it was near a place called Tirgarvil- Do you know that area? I have been searching for information on our Brennans for several years and am so happy to see your post. I do have the following information:
Francis and Margaret Brennan had the following children ( Do not know birth order):
1. Anna born May 1874 Died 27 February 1951 in Philadelphia PA
Married George McCool in Phila in about 1900
George and Annie McCool had 6 children who lived past infancy- Have more info if
you want it.
2.Kate
3. Mary
4. Joseph
5. Arthur
6. Margaret
7. Elizabeth ( your Elizabeth!)
8. Rose
9. Francis
10. Bridget
11. Jenny
As I said I do have more info on Annie's family in Philadelphia and would be happy to share. I would love any info you have on the Brennans! I guess you and my husband are cousins! Looking forward to hearing from you.
