Hello Listers,
My great great grandparents, John Bailey of Aghanloo was married to Sarah McIntire of Aghanloo on February 10, 1844 in Magilligan Roman Catholic Parish.
Witnesses: Thomas McCloskey and Ann Begley
The Bailey family lived in the Townland of Ballybristle (now spelt Balleybrissell), Derry.
According to the Magilligan Roman Catholic Parish records, John and Sarah had 4 children:
William Bailey was baptized November 3, 1844
Sponsors: John Mulholland and Sarah Canning
John Bailey was baptized April 29, 1848
Sponsors: Daniel Mullan and Nancy Bailey
Ann Bailey was baptized March 2, 1851 **Great Grandmother**
Sponsors: Charles Mullen and Rebecca McIvor
Richard Bailey was baptized January 22, 1854
Sponsors: John McIvor and Ann McIvor
It's been a while since I posted this information. Maybe someone might be related, etc.
Also, I purchased a wonderful book called:
Ordnance Survey
Memoirs of Ireland
Parishes of Co. Londonderry III
1831-1835
Roe Valley Lower
Vol II
Edited by Angelique Day and Patrick McWilliams
This book mentions many Townlands and describes what life was like living in these Townlands and life in Derry during 1831-5.
I purchased this book on line at:
