Hello Derry List,



Margaret (Minnie) McDermid (or McDermott (as she was entered on the 1881
census in the UK) was, I am told born in LONDONDERRY around 1863. I
know her father was called ALEXANDER but do not know her mothers name.



Her parents died when she was around 12 and she was sent to live with a
maiden Aunt and her brother to live with the Jesuits somewhere! It
seems that her Grandparents owned/ran a shop in Londonderry. Minnie was
RC as was her Aunt.



I wonder if some kind soul might throw some light on her birth record
please?
