Dear Everyone,
I'd like to make it clear that I'm willing to give whatever limited help I can to anyone who is researching ancestors in or very close to the Downpatrick area in Co Down, N Ireland. "Close to" means within about a five mile radius. If you are not sure where Downpatrick is then you probably shouldn't be contacting me. This restriction won't stop me offering help generally to others where I happen to have the answers close at hand in my small library and personal records. If you don't get an initial response from me fairly quickly it probably means I have decided I can't help.
Researching takes a lot of time, so when I occasionally visit the PRONI in Belfast, I will be confining my searching to my own interests and those of people in or close to Downpatrick (as defined above).
My own interests are in the surname Stranney, Straney, and variations of these world wide.
Billy.
