My gg grandfather Robert MARSHALL b. 12 May 1839 Ballymorran, Killinchy, Co
Down. Parents were James MARSHALL Jr and Mary Unknown (poss. MARSHALL), b.
1814 Tullycore? Believe Robert had a brother Alexander MARSHALL b. ca 1842.
Grandparents James MARSHALL Sr and Sarah BROWN m. 7 Dec.1816 Killinchy
Presbyterian Church. James b. 1787 or 1797, Sarah b. 1795. James son of
Robert Marshall of Ballow, Sarah dau of James Brown of Ballybregagh.

They had (verified) the following children: James b. ca 1818, Anna ca 1821,
Robert b. 21 June1829, William b. 10 June 1837, Nancy Agnes b. 16 Jan 1842.
They may have had (not proven) Matthew, Samuel, Thomas, Nancy Margaret m.
MCKAIG. Anna MARSHALL m. David GIBSON, Down, Ireland bef. 1840, 10
children,d. 15 Jul 1865 Killinchy. Nancy Agnes m. James LONG b. 2 Aug 1837
Killinchy, Co Down, s/o Hamal LONG and Mary GIBSON on Oct. 23, 1863
Christian Co IL.

James and Sarah, sons Robert and William and daughter Agnes came to US ca
1849-1855, grandsons Robert and Alexander joined them near Rochester NY in
1856, by 1859 they all settled in Christian Co IL. A David MARSHALL age 21
accompanied the 2 boys to US aboard the ship ISAAC WEBB, arriving NYC March
23, 1856.

Tithe rolls list James MARSHALL at Tullycore, Island Conly and Craigarusky.
There are several MARSHALL graves at Killinchy Presbyterian Church. There
are several MARSHALLs from Co Down Ireland who settled near Chilli and
Rochester NY in 1850's and 1860's, may all be related, but have not been
able to establish their relationships.
