I have just re-subscribed after taking a break... I'm still looking for
more info on my CLINGAN/CLINGEN ancestors:

in Dromara, Presbyterian, Down, Ireland
known children:
2...Robert CLINGAN, born May 1, 1834 in Dromara, Co. Down
He lived for a time in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, then
immigrated to Boston, MA in 1850 (per nat'lization papers)
occupation: Carriage Smith, Goddard Carriage Co.
married Henrietta E. Stoner, dau. of Peter & Sarah Stoner of
Poughkeepsie, NY
on June 27, 1859 in Chelsea, MA (1859-128-143)
by Hanson P. Mason, Pastor of the Baptist Church, Chelsea, MA
Robert died after 1900
Henrietta died Dec. 13, 1915, in Chelsea, MA, age 76y,10m
buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA
known children:

married on Oct. 18, 1860 in Chelsea, MA (1860-137-144)
Albert Hanson, b.c. 1838, son of Benjamin & Clarrisa
by J.A. Copp, Pastor of the Broadway Congr. Church, Chelsea
2.. James CLINGAN, b. 21 Aug 1838, d. Dec. 1, 1915 in Chelsea, MA
occupation: courrier
married Matilda Allen, b. 1845, d.1912 in Somerville, MA
3.... John B. Clingen (1871 - 1951)
3... William A. Clingen (1874 - 1908)
3... James A. Clingen (1874 - 1948)
3... Samuel Clingen (1886 - April 29, 1897)
The siblings Robert, James and Sarah all immigrated to St. John, New
Brunswick, Canada - I have no idea if their parents also immigrated, or
perhaps died in Co. Down. The siblings show up in Chelsea, Massachusetts
in the 1860, 1880 and 1900 Federal Census.
