I am working on two BARR families who were born in Bangor, County Down,
Ireland. James BARR, a mason, born 6 April 1860. He married Elizabeth
McFADDEN, native of Brush Mills, Ireland. They emigrated to the United States
after 1886, when their son, William, was born (25 September 1886). They
settled first in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, United States, eventually moving to
Onondaga County, New York, United States. They had six (6) known children,
who were listed in their Declaration of Intention to become a United States
Citizen. The first three were born in Bangor, Ire.; the last three in Old
Forge, Pennsylvania. Agnes (1882), James (1884) and William (1886; John
(1891), Thomas, (1895), and Albert (1897).

William G. BARR married Sarah McFADDEN. They were natives of Ireland. They
had Walter, b. Pendleton, Eng., 1889; Henry, b. 1890, Manchester, Eng.;
Edmund, b. 1893, Manchester; James Alexander, b. 1895, Manchester; Robert J.
b. 1897, England; Margaret, b. 1899, Bangor, County Down, Ireland; and Sarah
May, b. 1903, place yet to be discovered.

This second family is said to be related to H. Grey BARR, owner and operator
of the Brae Loch Inn, Cazenovia, New York.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone connected with these to families. I am
trying to prove whether James and William were brothers, and, perhaps, their
wives were sisters?
