Hi,
Moore is such a common name that this is by no means definitive advice, but
the Moores were major land-owners in the area around Auchnacloy. One of
them is buried in an old prominent crypt in the very old and decaying
graveyard at Aghaloo.

If you neventually discover that you descend from the Moores of Ravella
(near Aucnacloy) as their estate is known, there are sixteen boxes of
unindexed papers belonging to this family stored at the PRONI in Belfast.
There are letters, maps and mainly land records in those boxes. Fromr
eading them it appears that the land-owners leased many of their lands to
other Moores.

This was a very prominent Protestant family.

In terms of starting your research. You will have to work backawrd from
obituaries and death and marriage records that you can get on more recent
Moores. It looks like you have started that. If you have maiden names you
can use Grittifths and Tithes to narrow the focus of your search and help
you determine which county to look at.

Kings County (Now Offaly) or Tyrone, both have been mentioned. I know that
his fathers name was Robert Moore, from Edward's Wedding Certificate. I
believe that his mothers name might be Lizzie Margaret or Lizzie. This is a
guess based on the fact that his first son was named after his father,
second son after his wife's father, first daughter was called Lizzie
Margaret, and second daughter after his wife's mother. I know that they
were strong protestants.
