I had Nixes in LA and Hamilton Co., TX, too. Joel Ross Nix (1826-1910)
lived in Catahoula Parish, LA 1850-1870 before moving to Texas. His
daughter, Narcissa Isabelle "Bell" Nix (married Charlie Robert
Faulkenberry) lived many years in Hamilton Co., TX and most of her
children were born there.

The names of your Nixes are not in my family, but I wonder if there is a
connection because of the places they lived.
