I looked for Uriah in my files and I do not have him, I
cannot directly help you. But I can make one suggestion. This is the
kind of case where Y-DNA testing may provide the links that will
assist you. Several Nix lines have been tested and you may be able
to determine if your line is common with any of those. That would
allow you to narrow your search for the missing common ancestor. The
other alternative would allow you to determine if the line you are
researching is not common with any of those that have been tested to
date. That would allow you to eliminate those lines from
consideration. Either way it would allow you to concentrate your
search to a smaller field, that will become even smaller as more are
tested.
All you need is a living NIX male with an established paper
trail to Uriah. The cost is about what you would expect to spend on a
out of town genealogy search to a Court House or to a cemetery. For
more information and to see the results to date see the site that
Thomas Nix has established. <http://www.nixfamilytree.com/>;
