I have Schank's on both my maternal gr-mother's and gr father's side. My maternal gt-gr-mother on my gr-father's side is Bessie Schank m. to Cenekey Conover. No info is known about them. My maternal gt-gr-mother on my gr-mother's side is Cynthia Lucretia Schank b. 9-2-1891 in Pinebrook, New Shrewsbury, NJ, m. Madison Ruffin, Sr (b. 6-2-1878). She and 3 siblings were born from Samuel C. Schank(Schanck on death cert) b. abt 8-22-1852 of Macedonia, NJ and Margurite Ann DeHart b. 2-26-1852 of Key Port, NJ. Samuel C. Schank was born from James Schanck and Catherine___. No known siblings. I don't have a lot if info on these lines, but if any of these names or dates ring a bell or can help you in any way, please let me know. I would also appreciate learning more about the African-American Schancks.
