Ginny ,
Are you aware of the New Jersey census for the years between the federal
ones? I have found a lot of good info on these, they were ahead of the
federal in questions asked. Try ...
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp Use place
search box. Putting in New Jersey gets you all the censuses for the area of
Sussex county.
You can rent reels of these areas to search your self... Church records ;
land & property ; probate records which contain wills ; cemetery records;
vital records contain births, deaths, marriages and many more records.
I always search the state 1st i.e. New Jersey.... then county Sussex
then the name of town / village all have different records to look at .
You can look at where the nearest LDS is to you and the hours they are
open. You can rent a reel for about $5.50 for a month.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Julie B in NC All the best in your search

Hi Jim,
I have been keeping your e-mail to Paula on Sussex Co. land records and
wondered if your friend could be of assistance in finding any for me. I
have been trying to find my gggreatgrandfather Abraham Allen's parents.
Abraham lived in Sussex Co. in the early 1800's. I thought perhaps if he
had land it might mention who he got it from - maybe leading me to his
parents. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Ginny Zebe
