While this sounds like a good idea, you need to keep in mind that one needs to have the written permission of the speaker(s) before taping, either video or audio. Most speakers, especially professional speakers, do not allow unauthorized recording.

Excellent suggestion! That would be a boon to those of us who cannot
attend. I thought of that yesterday, but being a peon amongst notables, I
