Yes, Doris, I know the MA lake you mention! Been there. My husband attended
college in Webster, MA at Nichols.
I mentioned a few days ago, when "Long Branch, NJ" was a subject that those
of us attending Monmouth College in the Nursing Program, would on our dinner
break, run down the street from the high school, where classes were in the
evening, and cross the tracks and have Pizza at an Italian Restaurant there
and I asked if anyone remembered the name. It came to me today....Nunzios!
Think maybe you had to step up to go in. Gosh, that was 45 yrs. ago or
so.... we gals from Fitkin loved it as hospital food was served students
too... often our classmates from Monmouth Memorial would be with us....
probably they led us to that wonderful place.. it was dry.. so often folks
who did want a drink, would go across the street somewhere to a pub and get a
container of beer or wine.... containers like we get chinese food these days
to go! I remember we drove from Belmar to Long Branch to get Pop Corn up
there, that was out of this world! Wonderful time and place to grow up!
Just a former jersybel who resides in MA and FLA
