Hey Larry,
Man I remember your name. How about Donald Bowler, Alphonse DeLaura. Hey we actually called them nuns Millie and Hiney..do you remember that ? Do you remember sister agnes or mother eughes?? she was in charge.
Do you remember the fire ? took off the top floor of the main building. They turned the gym into our sleeping area.
I actually remember giving you a dollar bill in exchange for a quarter. I also remember calling you when we both were out of the orphanage for the weekend.
Yep the camp was at Bear Mountain NY. How bout those shorts we always wore and the tee-shirts with the picture of Jesus and the bloody Sacred Heart. On sundays we all wore white shirts and white shorts and marched down the road to church remember ? use to envy the 8th graders, they always got to wear long pants.
How bout those bungalows and the wednesday skits we used to put on or the nightime movies outside the nuns quarters. or the weenie-roasts we all got poison ivy getting sticks in the woods for the hot dogs and marshmellows.
I went back there twice since I left in 62. Last year was my second time. It is really eerie....the field across the street is gone. all homes.
I am not kidding when I say I remember very few names and yours is probably one of the only 5 I remember.
