my ggrandmother Julia Charlotte Reeves was placed in an orphanage around 1860-1865. at age 3 she was taken and raised by the Jewell family of Rahway/Manalapan She is not listed in any of the federal census,but the jewell family is. Julia was listed as black in the census,which was after she married my uncle Emil Stahl(1900). Anyone with info on an orphanage in Rahway or near there or Julia, please contact me.
