James Huff gave his date of birth and birthplace on his 1832 Rev War pension application in Perry Co., AL. He stated that he was living in Prince Edward Co., VA, at the time of his enlistment. He moved to Elbert Co., GA, following the war and died in Perry Co., AL about 1839.

James Huff may be a descendant of Derrick Pauluszen who changed the name to Hoff/Huff.
