My gr. grandfather, WOODROW HUGHES, enlisted 1861, served in the 10th
Regiment, NJ Volunteers,Co. C, was wounded and captured, sent to Libby
prison in Richmond, Va ., from which he was paroled, meaning he promised not
to take up arms again.

Another family member, a gr. uncle, THOMAS BULLOCK, was drummer boy in 10th
Regiment, NJ Volunteers, enlisted 1861, died outside Washington, DC., age 17,
of typhoid fever.

they let us know their spirit still survives."
