January 30th ~ Visited school with Benjamin ROULON, biddle REEVES, James and
Paul COOPER.
February 15th ~ John REDMAN and wife and daughter Mary, Deborah STEWARD and
Letticia CRAIG, lodge with us.
May 1st ~ Visited by cousin Deborah, wife of Jos. HUGG, and her sister,
Hester MATLACK.
May 4th ~ Went away in chair, visited Rebecca LIPPINCOTT at Mullica Hill, and
her son, Joshua LIPPINCOTT, Thomas BATTIN and Jacob HAINES, near
Sweedesborough.
May 10th ~ Aaron H. MIDDLETON and Deborah WHITALL married; Phineas LORD and
wife together with Samuel MICKLE and wife, overseers. Deborah was sister of
Mary WHITALL who married Robert HOPKINS.
May 19th ~ Visited Benjamin REEVE, sick at Job TYLER's house, on way to
Salem. He is under care of Doctor WISTER.
May 22nd ~ Joseph SHARP buried. He was father of boy who lived with Samuel
MICKLE and who had died a few months previous.
June 9th ~ Joseph OGDEN and Sybil TATUM married.
June 16th ~ Court Week. Many people in today, among them were Thomas REDMAN
and wife; James COOPER; Daniel SMITH and his daughters; Mary and Elizabeth
SMITH, ye latter from Egg Harbor and wife of Evi SMITH.
June 17th ~ Wrote to Andrew HUNTER near Trenton, about a mortgage on his land.
June 18th ~ Joseph HILLMAN who removed from Woodbury in the spring of 1800
returned yesterday a week, died of consumption and was buried in the
Presbyterian Burial Ground.
July 2nd ~ Rachel WILKINS, wife of Isaac WILKINS and daughter of Joseph LOW,
deceased.
July 30th ~ Joseph EUSTACE, mason, died this morning.
August 17th ~ My beloved wife appointed on a committee to judge of
suitableness of establishing a Preparative Meeting at Maurice River.
August 28th ~ Attended funeral of John MATTS at ye Strangers Burying Ground.
September 4th ~ Called on Franklin DAVENPORT and his mother.
September 13th ~ Mentions Dr. William LUMMIS.
September 24th ~ Surveying proposed new road from James DAVIS (at Strawberry
Bank) to fall in near WARD's Grave yard. Found it had been erroneously
staked off.
September 26th ~ Anne DAVENPORT, mother of Franklin DAVENPORT, departed this
life last night about mid-night.
September 27th ~ From meeting came Thomas CARPENTER and wife with their son
Edward and wife, and in the p.m. my dear wife went with them in their wagon
to the Burial of Anne DAVENPORT at Presbyterian Burial Ground.
September 27th ~ William GOODWIN buried on first day last.
October 1st ~ Last week black MINGO deceased ~ late belonging to my deceased
father-in-law, Robert Friend PRICE. She was blind and incapable of
maintaining herself, was boarded out.
October 18th ~ John HOPPER, Jr., son of Levi HOPPER, deceased this p.m.
October 18th ~ Zatthu WHITALL's wife, Lydia, late JONES, deceased.
October 27th ~ Jos. RICHARDS to be married to Margery JOHNSON in Philadelphia.
December 7th ~ An invitation to funeral of Jonathan FISHER, Sr.
December 19th ~ Visited Benjamin LOVETT. He and wife had gone to Newton
meeting held for first time in their new brick meeting house on ye Ferry Road.
December 25th ~ Hannah LORD, mother of Joshua LORD, deceased.
December 25th ~ Frequent mention of Sister Blanch PRICE.
