January 20th ~ John LAWRENCE's wife, Mary Anne, and Deborah DAVENPORT on
visit to my wife.

January 20th ~ Sarah, widow of Isaac MICKLE, Sr., deceased.

January 25th ~ Attended wedding of Thomas CLEMENT, son of Samuel CLEMENT,
brick maker, and Sarah HOPPER, daughter of Levi HOPPER.

February 3rd ~ Went to Daniel SMITH's house at ye Windmill and took notes for
writing a lengthy Will. Thunder storm.

February 19th ~ Select Quarterly Meeting. Hannah CLEMENT, widow of John
CLEMENT; Deborah STEWARD and Elizabeth FRENCH, wife of Charles FRENCH of
Philadelphia lodge.

February 23rd ~ At funeral of Sarah BORDEN. Produced and read Will to
relatives.

March 17th ~ This day 44 years (in 1759) the snow on ye ground in the Deer
Park in ye woods being then level was one yard deep ~ the deepest snow I ever
remember.

March 20th ~ Sarah, ye wife of James HINCHMAN, and daughter of Joseph MORGAN,
is to be buried in Woodbury on the 22nd of March.

April 4th ~ Wrote Blanch PRICE's Will.

April 23rd ~ Rose at 3 a.m. Went to Philadelphia on horseback. Cousin
Elizabeth FOX informed me that she was born July 1st 1729, old style.

May 8th ~ Trees and bushes damaged by a wet snow. Mentions other snow
storms, May 5th 1774; March 17th 1759 and March 1764.

May 20th ~ Lydia, widow of William ROBINSON, deceased.

May 27th ~ Abigail ELLIS, widow of Joseph ELLIS, deceased, to meet at her son
Samuel's at Glos'ter for funeral.

June 2nd ~ Attended funeral of George BROWN, age 18 or 19 years old, son of
Ashur BROWN.

June 2nd ~ Richard MILLER of ye neighborhood of Salem, deceased yesterday at
house of Joseph BURROUGHS, interred at Haddonfield.

June 4th ~ Friends School House at Woodbury was struck by lightening.

July 9th ~ Reaping and cradling wheat.

July 17th ~ Wrote will of Isaac JONES who is sick. He died on the 19th.

July 26th ~ Benjamin and Henry RULON's store broken into last night. One of
the thieves was caught in Philadelphia four days later and placed in the
Woodbury jail.

August 1st ~ Sister Blanch PRICE deceased at home of Brother Joseph HINCHMAN.
Buried at Haddonfield.

August 3rd ~ Mentions KAY's late BLACKWOOD's Mill.

August 24th ~ Sold house and lot of Blanch PRICE to Isaac TOMLINSON of
Haddonfield.

September 3rd ~ Preparative Meeting. A subscription to raise about $200
supposed to be about our quota of Westown's School debt.

September 3rd ~ Assisted in hauling hay.

September 12th ~ My birth day. 58th year commenced.

September 23rd ~ Yellow fever at Philadelphia, CHEW's Landing and Timber
Bridge. John ANDERSON formerly Inn Keeper at Woodbury, and who moved a few
days ago from Philadelphia to Salem, is deceased of it.

September 26th ~ Funeral of Rebecca REDMAN, wife of Thomas REDMAN, Sr.

October 2nd ~ Samuel CHATHAM and Rebecca HILLMAN married.

October 6th ~ Judge Isaac SMITH of Trenton here awhile in the morning.

October 7th ~ John BLACKWOOD deceased last night; buried at Haddonfield.

October 14th ~ Our ancient neighbor Samuel HARRISON, deceased.

October 29th ~ Desire BROWN, wife of Joseph BROWN and sister of Biddle
REEVES, deceased.

November 4th ~ British Parliament passed an act exempting Quakers from
military duty. His comment, "Wonderful indeed, if so."

November 20th ~ Caroline WHITALL, deceased.

November 24th ~ Rectified error of Samuel WILKINS in measuring Methodist
Meeting House lot.

November 25th ~ Jedediah ALLEN, Jr. and Letitia HINCHMAN married at our
meeting.

November 25th ~ Rode to Isaiah WARD's to see about getting a rag carpet woven.

December 13th ~ Ashur BROWN made known his intentions of removing to ye
Western Territory of the United States.

December 14th ~ Andrew EURIAN drowned in Philadelphia a few nights ago.

December 31st ~ He writes: "Lord! Make me wiser every year and better every
day." [New Years Eve again… wonder how the gun noise went this year?]
