I'll be very interested to hear other takes on this question.
I've only been researching family a few years, so I'm no authority,
however I have found the name spelling thing quite a problem. And there
doesn't seem to be a solution.
Given that folks often couldn't read or write and didn't really give
their names the "importance" we do now -- we've all seen the same name
spelled two or three different ways in one document -- what are our
chances??
Bless our ancestors' hearts! Terri
