Dear John
Find info I have put together on Stagg family including a Thomas Stegg. I am
assuming that Lena Steggen and Thomas Steggen are siblings because of Thomas
standing in for William Stegg who William Wisner was probably named after.
Judith Courter Ullman

William Folly b abt 1740 married to Anna had son Adam Folly.

Jean Morris was wondering if the name of the mother of Adam Folly
could have been Anna Stagg.

Witnesses were Thomas and Hester Stag at bp of Adam Folly on 16
Jun 1792 at Paramus Reformed Church.

Since the deeds and tax records of Bergen County are very helpful
in family history from 1700 to 1800, I have put together list of
deeds and tax records mentioning the Stagg family.

Stagg family mentioned in book Bergen County New Jersey Deed
Records 1689-1901, compiled by John David Davis, Heritage Books,
1995

p 1

Boudinot...Persaik River...Berrys Creek...purchased by John Stagg
and Abraham Rutan of Hans Balho Feurt. William(X) Stagg and
Elenor (X) Stagg. Witness Thomas van Boskerk and George Ryerson.

Question Does this mean John Stagg died and William Stagg is son
and sold property?
Is the property along the Passaic River in Newark? or Wayne or
further north?
Daniel Rutan settles in southern part of Ramapo Tract.

p 13
5 Aug 1720, William & Elenor Stagg, of Bergen Co., NJ to John

again lie about the wife of said Jones. Wit. John Berry, Garret
