Trying to determine if my gr. gr. grandfather, Elias Boudinot Conover, is related to any of the three Conover families in the 1830 Saddle River census. He was born in 1818 or 1817. Appeared in 1840, 1850, 1860 and 1870 census in NYC and 1880 in Englewood-under-the-Cliffs. He died there in 1888 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Brooklyn. All census gave place of birth as New Jersey. Listed as Mulatto, Black and White in variuos census.Married Catherine Cinclair (Sinclair or St. Clair) at Greene Street Church, Manhatten on April 4, 1836.There was an 80 year old Sarah Lancaster living w/ them in 1850 who may have been his grandmother.
