Barbara,
I cannot be 100% sure we're talking about the same cemetery, but if there is another one on River Rd., I haven't the foggiest where it might be. The only one I've visited over the past 15 years used to have two large skeletal(no pun intended)building remains on either side. I believe someone referred to one as the Alcoa building in answer to your query. Today, as you face the cemetery from the road, the taller of the structures on the right is gone, replaced by condos. The one on the left is still there(as of two weeks ago).
My estimate of the cemetery's size is about 100'X300' with the 100' width on River Rd., so it is very easy to drive by without noticing the entrance; which as you're facing the cemetery from the road is on the right hand side of at least a 10' sandy colored concrete wall that obscures the gravestones behind it. Between River Rd. and this wall is a small area to park with a sign telling you not to park...I think that's there to discourage night parking.
Directly across the road from the cemetery are fairly new stores forming a strip toward the river. I have found the cemetery almost directly across from Grant's tomb, if that helps.
The Episcopalian Church in front of the gate of course is no more, but a couple of years ago I went to the Edgewater Municipal building, and was permitted to look through an old book there containing apparently the ONLY records of burials. The recordings are often missing information, but they'll have some listings registered where no grave marker can be found. The clerk gave me a copy of the cemetery's layout...containing every possible grave. Then, by scanning the "old book", you can write what is of interest on your copy. The cemetery for many years was maintained by a private association, but the town now administers the property. Call 411 for the Municipal Bldg.'s phone # before you go there.

What names are you interested in? Wonder if we have any in common? Davis, VanBuren(Beuren),Pelsang are mine.

Joe
